Operation Kibbutz Yarok (OKY) is an eco-campsite one mile off of Camp Newman’s main camp. OKY is on its third summer and is deeply inspired by the work done on KIbbutz Lotan in Southern Israel. Over the summer, the OKY staff members work with Avodah (campers going into 11th grade) to build elements of the kibbutz campsite. OKY is transforming daily. Throughout the year OKY is opening its doors to anyone who wants to lend a hand in developing the Kibbutz program at Newman. If you are interested in coordinating an event during the year with OKY, or if you want more information about the Kibbutz please e-mail us at: sophven@gmail.com.
